This position offers a competitive salary of $106, annually and the opportunity to work in beautiful Austin, TX. The selected candidate will be responsible for handling complex cases and matters without supervision, as well as cases and matters with supervision that may result in severe consequences. This is a full-time, remote employment opportunity with flexible/hybrid work options.
Job Duties:
- Conducting legal research and analyzing information applicable to the case or issue at hand
- Drafting legal documents, including briefs, motions, orders, subpoenas, contracts, and correspondence
- Taking depositions and responding to discovery requests
- Preparing evidence and materials for trial
- Representing the State at docket calls
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- . from an accredited law school
- 8 years of licensed attorney work experience
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of jurisprudence, criminal and civil law and procedures, as well as federal, state, local, and county laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines
- Ability to effectively present cases and arguments verbally and in writing
- Proficiency in computer software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage time and multiple tasks, work well under pressure, and establish and maintain effective working relationships
Work Environment & Other Information:
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds, visual acuity, speech and hearing, and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
- Work hours may include weekday and weekend shifts, with varying hours subject to change
- This position may require participation in business continuity efforts outside of normal job functions
- Criminal, education, and employment background check is required
