Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm is seeking a Corporate Finance Associate to join its Chicago office. This position focuses on private placement securities offerings and corporate finance transactions. The ideal candidate will contribute to a wide range of domestic and international debt financing matters, gaining experience across industries and geographies. Location:

  • Chicago, Illinois

Duties:

  • Structure, negotiate, and document domestic and international private placements of debt and other securities

  • Manage secured and unsecured financing transactions, subordinated debt, and project finance

  • Work on general corporate financings and real estate credit tenant loan transactions

  • Represent institutional investors in private debt financing arrangements

  • Handle cross-border transactions with focus areas in the UK, Western Europe, and Australia

  • Participate in project and facility finance matters, including public-private partnerships

  • Engage with transactions across multiple industries: energy, natural resources, oil and gas, real estate, education, healthcare, hospitality, data centers, and infrastructure

  • Negotiate lender interests in project-related agreements

Requirements:

  • 2–3 years of experience in corporate finance and private placement securities offerings

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex transactions and coordinate across teams

  • Experience with both domestic and international financing structures

  • Strong transactional drafting and negotiation skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to a . state bar in good standing (Illinois preferred)

Skills:

  • Proficiency in structuring and negotiating financial instruments and project finance arrangements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
