Foreclosure Attorney The candidate will be responsible for representing creditors in real estate litigation and default servicing matters including foreclosure actions. Drafting and filing complaints, checking dockets, drafting motions, completing legal research and writing assignments in both routines and contested foreclosure matters, supervising paralegal staff, and handling administrative matters. Provides legal support and guidance to financial institutions in creditors' rights matters including foreclosure and bankruptcy litigation. Manage foreclosure and eviction cases for national lenders and servicers. Review and approve pleadings and motions. Attend court hearings, mediations, and trials in person and/or by phone or videoconference. Assist in managing and/or supervising paralegals, administrators and other firm staff. Analyzes due diligence materials and real estate title information. Orders and reviews Preliminary Judicial Reports to complete service of process and obtain clear title in foreclosure. Develops and maintains client relationships. Completes legal research, litigation management, and special projects as directed. Drafts conveyance documents including deeds, affidavits, promissory notes, mortgages, leases, and subordination agreements. Develops expertise in all aspects of creditors' rights and real estate litigation practice. Represents financial institutions in creditors' rights and real estate litigation practice. Represents clients in real estate disputes including but not limited to real estate tax matters, construction disputes, lien priority matters, and evictions. Determines secured party collateral position, perfect security interests in real and personal property, and prepares UCC Financing Statements. Manages high-volume real estate litigation practice. A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school is required. Should have 2+ years of experience in litigation and/or real estate transactional matters. Relevant experience in litigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, title to real estate, and/or evictions is needed. Familiarity with the foreclosure process, civil procedure, and Ohio court rules is needed. Should be in Good Standing with the Ohio Supreme Court. A strong work ethic is needed. Strong academic background is needed. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are needed. Professional demeanor and ability to deliver exceptional client service and develop strong client relationships.
