Job Title: Associate, Transaction Advisory - (M&A) Tax - Federal
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence for private equity groups and corporate clients.
- Analyze tax risks of target companies using tax returns, accounting information, and management interviews.
- Prepare and analyze reports correlating tax diligence and tax structuring findings with client valuations.
- Identify issues affecting purchase price, deal structure, or deal termination.
- Advise clients on purchasing agreements.
- Recommend post-acquisition actions to achieve tax efficiency and minimize tax risks.
- Work closely with executives, investment bankers, private equity and corporate clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other team members to exceed client expectations.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college/university is required; JD or master’s degree in taxation is preferred.
- CPA license or admission to state bar is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience in corporate or partnership tax or M&A transaction tax from a large public accounting or consulting firm.
- Strong knowledge of . federal income tax, mergers and acquisitions, and transaction services.
- Knowledge of state and local tax is a plus.
- Recent experience with corporate and pass-through tax concepts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and PowerPoint.
Salary Information:
- The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual.
- Colorado Salary Range: $55,000 - $82,500
- New York Salary Range: $68,500 - $95,000
- California Salary Range: $68,500 - $95,000
- Maryland Salary Range: $55,000 - $82,500
- Illinois Salary Range: $55,000 - $82,500
- New Jersey Salary Range: $68,500 - $95,000
Additional Information:
- The position requires extensive analytical and project management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with corporate and flow-through concepts, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to develop relationships with team members and external clients are essential.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and PowerPoint, is required.
- Willingness and ability to travel are necessary.
