Job Overview:
A respected immigration law firm is seeking a passionate and driven Associate Immigration Attorney to join its legal team. This position offers the opportunity to represent individuals and families in a wide range of immigration matters, including removal defense, family-based petitions, waivers, and naturalization. Ideal candidates will have experience in immigration law, a strong sense of advocacy, and a desire to make a difference in clients’ lives. This opportunity is offered through a legal recruiting agency on behalf of the hiring firm.

Location:

  • Silver Spring, MD

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation in immigration matters including removal defense, family-based immigration, waivers, visas, and naturalization

  • Prepare and file immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documentation

  • Represent clients before . Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Immigration Courts, and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)

  • Conduct legal research and remain current on immigration law developments and policies

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates and legal guidance

  • Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals, and fellow attorneys to manage caseloads

  • Participate in community outreach, education events, and pro bono activities

Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of experience practicing immigration law (preferred)

  • Familiarity with removal proceedings, family-based petitions, and USCIS/BIA procedures

  • Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

  • Commitment to client service and social justice

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in at least one . jurisdiction

  • Admission in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, . preferred

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong research and legal analysis capabilities

  • Client-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills

  • Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish or other commonly spoken languages, are a plus

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team
