The company is seeking a Vice President to join its Family Office, with a focus on developing innovative wealth planning strategies and providing family office services. The role is designed to assist clients in achieving their income tax, estate tax, philanthropic, and financial planning goals. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, client-friendly, and have a background in tax, trust, and/or estate advisory.

Private Wealth Management (PWM)
Private Wealth Management specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high-net-worth individuals, families, and select institutions. PWM teams work closely with clients to provide customized strategies based on extensive investment experience and a global reach. Private Wealth Advisors offer a wide range of services, including tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning, and private banking and lending services. This close relationship allows the team to adapt and offer new opportunities by leveraging the company's resources.
Goldman Sachs Family Office (GSFO)
The Family Office works alongside Private Wealth Advisors to establish strong client relationships and deliver a comprehensive suite of wealth planning and family office services.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert in assisting high net worth clients with income, trust, estate, and tax planning
- Advise on wealth transmission, including tax-efficient estate planning, lifetime gifting strategies, business transfers, charitable giving, and trust administration and restructuring
- Counsel clients on asset protection techniques and their implementation
- Collaborate with Trustees, Attorneys, Accountants, and other advisors on private clients' wealth planning
- Develop and implement philanthropic goals and related structures (., donor-advised funds, private foundations)
- Formalize clients' financial goals and create plans to achieve them
- Present internal educational seminars to Private Wealth Management teams
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s Degree required; CPA and/or JD highly preferred
- Extensive experience in structuring multi-generational wealth and estate planning strategies
- Technical expertise in US tax legislation and the tax implications of investment portfolios, estate planning entities, and philanthropic entities
- Strong income tax planning expertise
- Preferable experience with state and local tax matters in southern state jurisdictions
- Experience with private company owners and executives of public companies is a plus
- Strong background in advising on asset protection techniques
- Experience collaborating with Trustees, Attorneys, Accountants, and other advisors on wealth planning
- Deep interest in financial markets and strong investment sense/commercial instinct
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Resourceful, detail-oriented self-starter capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Extensive experience presenting to internal and external audiences
- Ability to build consensus and facilitate decision-making among families
- Experience in structuring and managing family office entities is a plus
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum of ten years of experience as an accountant, attorney, or wealth professional
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7 & Series 63 exams (must be obtained within the first 3 months of employment)
- Willingness and desire to travel as necessary for regional coverage
