Associate General Counsel - Contracting

Job Responsibilities:
The Associate General Counsel - Contracting is responsible for providing legal advice, support, and coordination on complex legal matters or projects. This includes representing the company in detailed or difficult litigation and administrative proceedings, and providing legal support to divisional management on specific business issues. The role involves representing the company in dealings with applicable regulatory bodies and government agencies. Additionally, the Associate General Counsel will offer advice and guidance to less experienced attorneys as required.

The position offers an opportunity for a motivated lawyer to provide counsel on complex contracting, including vendor, provider network, producer/customer, and strategic sourcing contracting. The candidate will provide sound, actionable legal advice on regulatory, business, and operational matters in a highly complex and evolving legal and technology environment. The role involves serving as a partner to business leaders in developing adaptive strategies to support the company's established business and further its growth while advancing the company's mission.

Additional responsibilities include:
- Providing legal support on moderately complex projects relating to corporate contracts.
- Offering legal support on more routine day-to-day business matters with a reasonable degree of independence.
- Possessing strong and proven negotiation skills.
- Proactively working with business and legal partners to identify and address potential regulatory, legal, and business risks.
- Exercising judgment and managing competing deadlines.
- Providing functional advice and guidance to legal support staff when assigned.
- Collaborating with legal colleagues to identify legal issues with potential cross-functional impact.
- Effectively and professionally communicating and interacting with co-workers, management, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrating the ability and interest in learning and willingness to take on new challenges.
- Complying with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies, and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
- Maintaining complete confidentiality of business information.

Education and Experience Information:
- Juris Doctor Degree and a license to practice law in the state where the legal department is located.
- 8 years of experience as an attorney with demonstrated understanding/experience in the health care or insurance field.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Negotiations and diplomacy skills.

Preferred Job Requirements:
- 3-5 years of recent experience in health care law and/or insurance law.

Salary Information:
Compensation for the position ranges from $143, to $267,. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

The position is a hybrid role requiring in-office hours 3 days a week at the respective office location. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
