Job Title:
Associate, Trade & Customs (with additional responsibilities for Senior Associate)
Job Responsibilities:
- Meet with and provide advice to clients across various industries on trade compliance matters, focusing on import and/or export issues.
- Lead and manage client projects, which include trade compliance audits, reviews, program development, and training.
- Support market development and thought leadership initiatives, including writing articles.
- Conduct research, write, and review advice, specifically in export compliance.
- Assist in the management, career development, and training of team members.
Additional Responsibilities for Senior Associate:
- Provide leadership to associates and review their work.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of one year of recent work experience, with a strong preference for experience in trade compliance, including but not limited to . Customs and Border protection rules and regulations, the . Harmonized Tariff Code, and . customs valuation requirements.
- Experience in export compliance, including EAR and ITAR, export jurisdiction and classification of complex products, licenses, and other ITAR/EAR export authorizations is preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree, ., . in taxation, and/or MBA from an accredited institution is required.
- Outstanding and in-depth experience with . import and export control regulations, with the capacity to address complex matters with practical advice and solutions.
- General export control and sanctions experience in areas such as export control compliance audits/reviews, voluntary self-disclosures, advisory opinion requests, classification, and developing a trade compliance framework.
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.

Additional Qualifications for Senior Associate:
- Minimum of three years of recent direct experience working on engagements involving import and/or export compliance matters.
- United States Customs Broker or CUSECO certification is preferred.
Salary Information:
- KPMG complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges. The ranges are determined based on factors such as applicant's skills, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and market considerations.
- California Salary Range: $62,200 - $104,000.
