- Responsible for a broad portfolio of litigation matters in the areas of Civic Engagement, Legal Assistance, Media, and Policy
- Lead the Strategic Litigation team and work closely with the Senior Vice President and other senior attorneys to develop and implement CLC's overall litigation strategy
- Litigate cases in federal and state courts, including identifying opportunities, preparing pleadings and motions, managing discovery, and mentoring and developing the litigation skills of CLC's attorneys
- Advise on state and local legislation and assist in building a legislative record
- Monitor public policy debates and make strategic recommendations for CLC's involvement
- Participate in program leadership team meetings and decision-making
- Work with other teams to develop messaging and strategic communications plans
- Some travel required
- At least 9 years of post-JD experience required
- Active membership in the DC bar or eligibility to waive into the DC bar
- Strong litigation experience and expertise, preferably in election law matters
- Exceptional staff and project management skills
- Strong research, writing, editing, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team
- Interest in campaign finance, voting rights, redistricting, or government ethics preferred
- Commitment to the nonpartisan nature and overall mission of CLC
