Job Overview:
A San Francisco-based law firm, recognized for its depth in renewable energy project finance, is seeking a Transactional Tax Associate with 3 to 6 years of experience. The role centers on supporting project development and tax equity structuring across the energy transition sector. This opportunity is offered through a specialized legal recruiting firm acting on behalf of the hiring organization.

Duties:

  • Provide tax structuring and advisory support for transactions involving renewable energy assets, such as solar and wind projects

  • Assist sponsors, developers, and investors in monetizing clean energy tax credits, including those under recent federal legislation

  • Draft and negotiate tax-related components of investment and project finance documents

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on energy financing deals, including M&A and joint ventures

  • Support due diligence efforts and assess tax risks for large-scale infrastructure initiatives

  • Stay current with evolving federal and state tax laws impacting the energy and infrastructure sectors

Requirements:

  • 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in transactional tax, ideally at an AmLaw 100 or comparable firm

  • Demonstrated interest in renewable energy or infrastructure transactions

  • Familiarity with tax equity structures, partnership taxation, and energy credit monetization

  • Ability to manage complex deal flows and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

  • Licensed to practice law in at least one . jurisdiction

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in a . State Bar

  • Eligibility for admission to the California Bar is preferred
