Job Overview:
A law firm located in Brooklyn, NY, is seeking a Litigation Associate to support a dynamic legal team focused on multifaceted disputes in commercial litigation, employment-related class actions, business advisory matters, and healthcare law. This hybrid opportunity allows for hands-on experience in high-stakes litigation with a close-knit and forward-thinking legal practice.

Duties:

  • Manage all phases of civil litigation, including pre-trial proceedings, motion drafting, and discovery

  • Represent clients in court conferences, mediations, and depositions

  • Draft pleadings, procedural motions, and detailed legal briefs

  • Conduct legal research and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations

  • Interview clients regarding contract matters and oversee the intake process

  • Address contractual disputes and help facilitate resolution

  • Maintain consistent client communication and build trusted relationships

  • Update supervising attorneys with key developments in case strategy and status

  • Provide legal insight that aligns with broader business and client goals

  • Contribute to a supportive team culture and mentor junior staff when applicable

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of litigation experience in a law firm or comparable legal setting

  • Admitted and in good standing with the New York State Bar

  • Proficiency in written advocacy and legal analysis

  • Able to manage time efficiently and work autonomously on multiple matters

  • Effective under pressure with a keen ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited . law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in New York

Skills:

  • Advanced legal research and writing capabilities

  • Strategic and analytical thinker

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational habits

  • Ability to lead initiatives and take ownership of case files

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
