Are you an experienced trial attorney looking for a new opportunity? Look no further! Hoffman & Forde, Attorneys at Law, APC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated trial attorney to join our team in San Diego, California.

At Hoffman & Forde, we pride ourselves on providing top-notch legal services to our clients in a friendly and collaborative environment. Our firm is fast-paced and growing, with offices located in the beautiful Banker's Hill neighborhood and La Jolla, overlooking the Cove.

We are looking for a trial attorney with at least 10 years of experience and first chair trial experience to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be the primary handling attorney on your own cases, while working with a supportive team of colleagues. You will be responsible for creating and implementing litigation strategies, handling court appearances, conducting depositions, attending mediations, and directly engaging with clients.

Qualifications:

- Licensed to practice law in the state of California and in good standing
- Minimum of 10 years of litigation experience, preferably in real estate and complex commercial matters
- First-chair trial experience (required)
- Strong knowledge of California state law
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to independently manage cases from start to finish
- Strong negotiation skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to manage a heavy caseload with little supervision
- Excellent drafting, writing, and analytical skills

Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

- Serve as first-chair attorney in trials
- Draft and respond to complaints
- Meet and confer with opposing counsel
- Develop case strategies
- Coordinate and conduct discovery
- Conduct depositions
- Draft motions, stipulations, briefs, and declarations
- Attend mediations and hearings and provide oral arguments
- Maintain excellent communication with clients

Compensation and Benefits:

- Competitive salary based on experience starting at $220,000+
