Job Title: Tax Consultant II, Insurance Tax
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Consultant II within the Business Tax Services group, you will play a crucial role in providing tax-related services to clients within the insurance industry. Your responsibilities will include:
- Offering tax advisory services to clients across various business functions such as underwriting, claims, IT, finance, and accounting.
- Coordinating with clients’ tax and finance departments to gather necessary data for tax return preparation.
- Assisting with strategic tax planning by researching federal tax laws and drafting technical memos.
- Supporting clients in IRS audit defense efforts.
Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related fields.
- At least 1 year of experience working with private or public corporations.
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, presentation, and communication skills.
- Excellent research and writing capabilities.
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on job requirements.
- Possession of or willingness to obtain one of the following accreditations: Licensed CPA, Licensed Attorney, Enrolled Agent, Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA), or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Preferred:
- An advanced degree such as a Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Experience in the life insurance, property insurance, or casualty insurance industry.
- Previous experience with a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Prior experience with corporate tax preparation, tax compliance, or tax controversy.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role considers various factors including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications. The estimated salary range is $76,800 - $115,200. It is important to note that compensation decisions are dependent on individual circumstances and it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range.

The position operates within a hybrid work model requiring . Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week. The role is available in multiple locations across the United States.
