Job Title: Assistant Attorney General - Litigation Section
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in litigation, preferably in a government setting
Experience in federal and state court
Familiarity with state court procedures

Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills
Responsibilities:
Defending the State of Missouri from lawsuits
Representing state officials, agencies, and employees in various practice areas
Managing and assessing risk for clients
Counseling and training to avoid future costs
Handling all stages of litigation, including pre-litigation strategies, discovery, trial, and appeals
Reviewing investigations
Mentoring and guiding less experienced attorneys
Regular interactions with clients, including state agency heads and general counsels
Opportunities:

Handling litigation from case initiation through appeal
Practice in many of the 114 counties in the state at all levels
Practice in both state and federal courts
Defense of state agencies
