Job Responsibilities

As an Insurance Defense Trial Attorney at the company, you will be responsible for a variety of legal duties aimed at representing the company's policyholders in civil litigation matters. The role encompasses:

- Managing the entire legal process from investigation and discovery through trial preparation and court proceedings.
- Representing clients in depositions, site inspections, court hearings, trials, and negotiating settlements as required.
- Researching applicable laws and developing appropriate legal strategies for all stages of litigation.
- Sharing legal strategies with claims representatives and insured clients.
- Establishing and maintaining good relationships with claims representatives and insured clients.
- Occasionally conducting training sessions for Legal, Claims, or other departments.
- Developing and rendering clear, unambiguous legal opinions and strategies.
- Drafting legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
- Providing guidance and direction to junior attorneys, paralegals, or law clerks.
- Collaborating with Home Office Legal for various legal matters.

Education and Experience Information

To qualify for the role of Insurance Defense Trial Attorney, candidates should have:

- Membership in the California State Bar.
- Appropriate special licenses to practice before boards or federal courts are preferred.
- A minimum of six years of successful experience as an attorney with trial experience.
- Experience in conducting discovery, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and hearings.
- Experience representing insurance companies.

Salary Information

The salary for the Insurance Defense Trial Attorney role at the company is structured to reflect the competitive labor market value and provides opportunities for progression. The salary details are as follows:

- Minimum Salary: USD $119, per year.
- Maximum Salary: USD $210, per year.
- Typical Starting Salary: Between $150,000 and $170,000.
