Job Title: Tax Manager - Financial Services Organization - Private Client Services
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage responsibilities related to technical planning and advising clients, including private entities such as C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnerships, and high-profile individuals/families.
- Act as a trusted advisor and role model for clients and colleagues across multiple teams.
- Coach and develop a highly trained team, ensuring quality and commercial value in work activities.
- Research tax issues to develop effective tax planning strategies.
- Open to various types of tax work from entity to individual.
- Translate complex data from diverse sources into client-ready insights and deliverables.
- Build effective long-term relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs.
- Communicate complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients.
- Maintain a reputation in the field by updating and sharing technical and best practice knowledge.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of tax professionals, reviewing work and ensuring they have the necessary knowledge, tools, and opportunities.
- Identify and react to risks and opportunities to improve services and processes.
Education and Experience Information:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field, supported by significant tax, business, or financial planning experience.
- CPA certification or membership in The Bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in professional services or a professional tax organization.
- Thorough understanding of estate and wealth planning.
- Experience with federal and state personal and trust taxation.
- Experience with flow-through entities (S-Corps, Partnerships, LLCs).
- Experience with C-Corps, including income tax provisions and consolidated federal and state tax returns.
- Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, with confidence to challenge senior colleagues and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Thorough understanding of automated tax processing systems.
- Commitment to continuing learning.
- Willingness to travel as needed and work in a balanced hybrid environment.
Ideally, you'll also have:
- A proven record in tax planning for owners and families.
- A proven record in a professional services environment.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt work style to collaborate with both internal and client team members.
Salary Information:
- Competitive salary.
- Base salary range in the US: $105,400 to $193,200.
- Base salary range in New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento): $126,400 to $219,500.
- Individual salaries are determined by various factors, including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
