Parker Poe, a leading law firm with offices in Atlanta, Charleston, Charlotte, Raleigh, and Columbia, is seeking law students to join our dynamic Summer Associate Program. This program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience and exposure to a variety of practice areas, helping them to narrow down their legal interests and chart their career paths.

Our summer associates have the opportunity to work on challenging projects alongside experienced attorneys, gaining valuable insight into the legal needs of some of the largest businesses and local governments in the Southeast. They also have the chance to present directly to clients, gaining real-world experience and building their professional network.

Recruitment Process:
• Participate in on-campus interviews or submit an application online
• Hiring decisions made throughout June and July
• Contact your career services office for opportunities to meet with our attorneys
• Contact Crystal Jones for any questions

Work Assignments:
• Work with various attorneys and receive guidance from a designated attorney in your home office
• Projects assigned based on your interests and practice group needs
• Goal to provide a broad experience in different practice areas
• Informal feedback throughout the summer, as well as formal midsummer and end-of-program reviews

Mentorship:
• Paired with a mentor group including a partner, associate, legal professional assistant, and representative from the Recruiting Committee
• Coordinate work, social activities, and administrative support
• Available to answer questions and provide guidance

Personal Engagement:
• Attorneys and staff get to know summer associates on a personal level
• Host various social activities to cultivate a sense of community
• Annual dinners for associates and partners
• Event to meet and connect with attorneys from other offices and firm leadership

Program Size:
• Intentional and thoughtful in crafting the size of the program each year
• Bring in enough summer associates to support the firm as full-time attorneys upon graduation from law school
• Goal is to transition summer associates into skilled and dynamic lawyers who become part of the Parker Poe family

Program Length:
• Eight-week program beginning in mid-May
• Second half of summer can be spent with another firm if desired
• Minimum of 6 weeks required with Parker Poe for those who wish to split their summer
• Option to start earlier if needed to accommodate a split summer
