Location

Duties

  • Draft and prosecute domestic and international patent applications

  • Conduct prior art searches and patentability analyses

  • Prepare responses to office actions from the USPTO

  • Assist with client counseling on IP strategy and portfolio development

  • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and legal teams to protect innovative technologies

  • Support IP-related due diligence and litigation as needed

  • Monitor updates in patent law and contribute to internal knowledge development

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in patent prosecution

  • Undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering (required)

  • Strong academic credentials

  • Demonstrated interest in building a long-term career in intellectual property law

  • Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently and independently

  • Commitment to client service and responsiveness

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited . law school

Certifications

  • Active registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

  • Admission to a state bar or eligibility to obtain licensure in the applicable jurisdiction

Skills

  • Technical writing proficiency and attention to detail

  • Strong legal research and analytical abilities

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Understanding of engineering concepts and patent prosecution procedures

  • Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced practice group
