The Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department is currently recruiting for positions in the Appellate Court Attorney series. This position will be filled in one of the following titles, depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicants: Principal Appellate Court Attorney.

H1: Appellate Court Attorney Series Position in Brooklyn, NY
H2: Principal Appellate Court Attorney with Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department

- Principal Appellate Court Attorneys serve in a confidential capacity and are responsible for assisting Chief Appellate Court Attorneys in the supervision and administration of legal departments.
- This position requires knowledge of the law and trial procedures, as well as the ability to research and analyze complex legal issues and questions.
- The appointee may be subject to reassignment to any position in the same title within the promotion unit of the Unified Court System.
- The minimum qualifications for this position include admission to the New York State Bar and three years of service in the Senior Appellate Court Attorney title, or equivalent legal experience.
- The base salary for this position is $126,278, with an additional $4,775 for location pay.

- Maintain strict confidentiality in all duties performed

Qualifications:
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- Three years of service in the Senior Appellate Court Attorney title; or equivalent legal experience
- Knowledge of the law and trial procedures
- Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret legal issues
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
