The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., is currently seeking law students to apply for our Summer Law Clerk Program. This program offers a unique opportunity for law students to work directly with our attorneys in court, representing indigent clients in criminal cases. Our specialized units also provide opportunities for clerks to gain experience in areas such as Mental Health, Immigration, Domestic Violence, Juvenile, and Complex Litigation.
Gain Practical Experience and Training
As a law clerk in our program, you will have the chance to work alongside our experienced attorneys and gain practical experience in criminal law and trial practice. This includes assisting with research and writing projects, motion work, and trial preparation. Our certified law clerks may even have the opportunity to appear in court, under the supervision of our deputy public defenders.
Participate in Training Seminars
In addition to hands-on experience, our law clerks also participate in training seminars on criminal law, ethics, and trial practice. This provides a well-rounded learning experience and helps prepare our clerks for their future legal careers.
Ideal Candidates
We are looking for law students who are currently enrolled in an accredited law school and are eligible for certification under the rules of the State Bar. Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in criminal law, trial practice, or public service, and a desire to work with indigent and underserved communities.

Our Summer Law Clerk Program will run from June 2nd, 2025, to August 8th, 2025. The application deadline is April 21st, 2025, or until positions are filled. We are accepting applicants for our Riverside, Banning, Southwest (Murrieta), and Coachella Valley (Indio) offices.
