Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant District Attorney Grade III is an entry-level legal position within the **Members Only**. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist with the prosecution of misdemeanor crimes and offenses. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a full caseload of criminal matters.
- Participating in arraignments, investigations, and legal research.
- Reviewing and collecting all discoverable materials.
- Preparing and arguing pretrial motions.
- Conducting hearings and trials in local courts within Monroe County.
- Making court appearances under a practice order and the direct supervision of a higher-level Assistant District Attorney.
- Regularly working evenings and weekends as required by the position.
- Performing related duties as required under the general supervision of a Bureau Chief and Deputy Bureau Chief.
Education and Experience Information:
The ideal candidate for the Assistant District Attorney Grade III position must meet the following qualifications:
- Graduation from a regionally or nationally accredited law school with a Juris Doctorate degree.
- Eligibility to work under the terms of a practice order in the State of New York.
- Preferred experience includes paid or unpaid work at a prosecutor's office, public defender's office, municipal law department, private law firm, or judicial office.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with judges, lawyers, court administrators, other court system personnel, and court officials.
Salary Information:
The annual salary for the Assistant District Attorney Grade III position ranges from $57,992 to $78,399.
