Job Title: Tax Manager - Real Estate

Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager within the Investment Management – Real Estate Tax group at the company, the individual will be responsible for providing federal tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the real estate industry sector. The role includes:

- Assisting clients with partnership life events such as formations, mergers, and initial public offerings.
- Performing inside and outside basis computations, section 704(c) and section 743(b) computations, and processing Schedule K-1.
- Utilizing proprietary technologies to streamline clients' tax compliance processes and achieve worldwide compliance.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships on various federal tax consulting/compliance engagements within the real estate industry.
- Advising clients on tax issues, including REIT Qualification, the impact of Tax Reform on passthroughs, business restructuring, and tax controversy.
- Overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects requiring tax analysis for various entities and their affiliates using advanced technology and data analytics.
- Managing engagement workflow, team resources, and billing.
- Mentoring and developing junior staff, including those in the . India office, by providing leadership, counseling, career guidance, and guidance on work/life fit issues.

Education and Experience Information:
Required qualifications for this role include:

- Ability to work within a hybrid model, co-locating in person 2-3 days per week.
- A minimum of 5 years of corporate tax experience.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- A thorough understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills, including partnership taxation, REIT taxation and qualification, partnership allocations, tax compliance, due diligence, acquisition/disposition planning and structuring, federal tax compliance, federal tax accounting and provisions, tax analysis, and tax research.
- Strong managerial experience with budgets, people, and projects.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, depending on the work and the clients and industries/sectors served.
- One of the following active accreditations:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible: Licensed Attorney or Enrolled Agent.
- Certifications such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) are also considered.

Preferred qualifications include:

- An advanced degree such as a Master's of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Previous experience in a Big 4 or large CPA firm.

Salary Information:
The wage range for the role of Tax Manager - Real Estate at the company considers a variety of factors including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The estimated salary range is $93,660 to $213,200. It is typical for the company not to hire an individual at or near the top of the range, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program based on individual and organizational performance.
