Job Title: Senior Advisor Staff Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Advisor Staff Attorney at the company is responsible for providing legal advice and exposure to product owners, data scientists, sales, operations, and executives. The core duties include drafting, revising, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts. The role involves liaising with internal business stakeholders to address a variety of commercial issues, such as contract interpretation and compliance, to help resolve issues. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for completing other ad hoc projects as assigned.
The position requires the attorney to report to the Senior Managing Counsel and work collaboratively with other members of the legal and contracts team as well as business unit stakeholders. The attorney must manage multiple projects independently under tight deadlines, demonstrating strong analytical skills to interpret contractual terms and communicate them clearly to internal stakeholders. The role also emphasizes a strong work ethic and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Education and Experience Information:
The successful candidate must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and be licensed and admitted to the bar in the state where they will practice. The position requires 2-5 years of legal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, with specific experience in commercial contracts transactions. The candidate must be capable of independently drafting, revising, and negotiating customer and vendor contracts with minimal supervision.
Preferred qualifications include being detail-oriented and organized, possessing proficient knowledge of data privacy laws and corporate/commercial law in the United States, and having experience in the insurance industry, including underwriting, coverage, claims, and litigation. A creative, problem-solving mindset, a keen business sense, and the ability to effectively balance legal risks against business interests are also desirable. The candidate should demonstrate a desire and ability to interact effectively with diverse internal groups, teams, divisions, and cultures.
Salary Information:
The position of Senior Advisor Staff Attorney offers a full-time hybrid work schedule with a minimum annual salary of $140,000 and a maximum of $150,000. The annualized base pay may vary depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
