Job Title: Export Controls & Sanctions - Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Export Controls & Sanctions - Manager position is part of the Risk and Compliance category, specifically under the Fraud, Investigations & Regulatory Enforcement (FIRE) specialty. As a manager, you will play a crucial role in solving complex business issues from strategy to execution, within the Cybersecurity, Privacy, and Forensics domain. This role requires you to help clients manage their national security regulatory compliance obligations, particularly focusing on export controls and trade sanctions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Solving critical business and data protection-related challenges.
- Driving strategic programs, data analytics, innovation, cyber resiliency, response, and technical implementation activities.
- Developing compliance program planning and implementation strategies to reduce the risk of noncompliance with regulatory requirements.
- Enhancing alignment with leading practices in export controls and trade sanctions.
- Serving as a subject matter specialist in a client-facing capacity.
- Designing and conducting assessments on the effectiveness of compliance program-related processes, procedures, controls, and technologies.
- Overseeing the development of export controls and trade sanctions processes and controls, including policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Providing on-demand consulting services related to export controls and trade sanctions inquiries.
- Managing services teams to address regulatory challenges in areas like restricted party screening and export classification.
- Working with internal specialized teams across various subject matter areas and global locations.
- Supporting and driving business development activities.
- Demonstrating knowledge of US export controls and trade sanctions regulatory requirements, such as Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions, and Committee on Foreign Investment in US (CFIUS).
- Possessing knowledge of the international trade environment and its complexities.
- Building and maintaining client relationships and community involvement.
- Communicating value propositions and managing resource requirements, project workflow, and project economics.
- Analyzing client internal control practices and evaluating compliance with export controls and trade sanctions regulatory requirements.
- Supervising teams to foster trust, encouraging diverse views, and promoting improvement and innovation.
- Coaching staff and providing timely, meaningful feedback.
- Developing new client relationships and introducing new projects/services with an inclusive service mindset.
- Innovating through new and existing technologies and experimenting with digitization solutions to optimize engagements.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor Degree
- Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 6 years
- Required Knowledge/Skills: Export controls/sanctions/other regulatory certifications (., ECoP; CGSS); other National Security regulatory background (., former Government or industry roles with a focus in trade compliance).
- Preferred Fields of Study: Business Administration/Management, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Finance, Accounting.
- Additional Educational Preferences: Bachelor of Science, Masters of Science, Bachelor of Business Administration, Master of Arts, Juris Doctor.
- Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record in serving as a subject matter specialist, designing compliance program assessments, overseeing compliance processes, supporting consulting services, managing services teams, and driving business development activities.
- Extensive experience as a team leader, identifying and addressing client needs, building networks, communicating value propositions, analyzing client practices, and coaching staff.
- Extensive knowledge of automation and digitization in a business environment, including innovating through technologies and utilizing digitization tools.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $232,000, with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
