Job Overview:

A Boston-based law firm with a nationally recognized intellectual property practice is seeking an experienced attorney to join its litigation team. This position is tailored for a legal professional with a robust foundation in pharmaceutical patent disputes, particularly Hatch-Waxman litigation, and a technical background in life sciences. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team engaged in high-profile IP litigation across the country.

Duties:

  • Manage all stages of pharmaceutical patent litigation under the Hatch-Waxman framework

  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests

  • Conduct fact and expert witness depositions

  • Collaborate with regulatory and scientific experts in preparing case strategies

  • Engage in trial preparation and support appellate work when necessary

  • Analyze and interpret FDA regulatory filings in connection with patent strategy

  • Assist in client counseling regarding patent portfolio enforcement and defense

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of focused experience in Hatch-Waxman litigation

  • Demonstrated litigation experience, including brief drafting and managing discovery

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities

  • Ability to balance multiple deadlines and collaborate in a fast-paced environment

  • High level of organizational detail and professional communication

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to at least one . State Bar in good standing

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical patent law

  • Familiarity with FDA regulatory structures as they relate to IP strategy

  • Technical background in chemistry, biology, or related field preferred

  • Strategic problem-solving and case management capabilities

  • Clear, concise legal writing and persuasive oral advocacy

  • Team-oriented approach with independent initiative
