A respected law firm is currently seeking an Associate Attorney with 1–2 years of experience to support its real estate practice, including development, transactions, and tax appeal matters. This full-time position is ideal for a self-motivated attorney who thrives in an independent work environment and demonstrates excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills. This role provides the opportunity to engage in substantive client work, legal strategy, and courtroom representation.

Location

  • Sayreville, New Jersey

Duties

  • Meet with clients to review case details and provide legal counsel

  • Collaborate with managing attorneys on case strategy

  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw and standard legal resources

  • Draft contracts, legal memoranda, filings, and various transactional documents

  • Analyze laws, precedents, and client facts to determine legal options

  • Prepare for and attend meetings, hearings, and conference calls

  • Interview witnesses and consult with experts as needed

  • Manage case files, monitor schedules, and ensure timely action on requirements

  • Represent or support clients at hearings and meetings

  • Maintain regular and professional client communications

  • Stay current through CLE, professional publications, and legal networking

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant legal experience in real estate, development, transactions, or tax appeal

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities

  • Strong organizational and case management skills

  • High level of professionalism and client confidentiality

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a law school

Certifications

  • Admission to practice law in New Jersey (required)

  • Admission to practice law in New York (preferred)

Skills

  • Strong legal research and writing skills

  • Excellent oral communication and presentation abilities

  • Analytical thinking and strategic problem-solving

  • Proficiency in legal databases and software tools
