Job Overview:
A law firm based in New York City, NY is looking to bring on a Litigation Associate to support its expanding plaintiff-side personal injury practice. The position involves hands-on litigation responsibilities from the outset, making it ideal for a motivated legal professional eager to gain broad courtroom and litigation exposure. This opportunity is being offered through a specialized legal recruiting partner.

Duties:

  • Manage personal injury cases through all litigation phases, from intake to final resolution

  • Conduct and defend depositions, 50-H hearings, and Examinations Under Oath (EUOs)

  • Draft a range of legal documents, including complaints, motions, oppositions, and discovery responses

  • Appear in court for conferences, arguments, and other proceedings

  • Coordinate with supervising attorneys to develop case strategies

  • Communicate effectively with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel

  • Maintain detailed case records and meet all filing and court deadlines

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in New York State

  • 1-5 years of relevant litigation experience

  • Direct involvement in personal injury matters preferred

  • Availability for in-person work and court appearances

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admittance to the New York State Bar (mandatory)

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with supervising attorneys

  • Proficient in managing multiple deadlines and handling high-volume caseloads

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in follow-through

  • Adaptability in a fast-paced legal environment
