Job Title: Summer Intern

Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in client-centered, holistic advocacy under the supervision and mentorship of experienced legal professionals.
- Conduct intakes and fact gathering to support case preparation and client services.
- Manage direct client contact and case management, ensuring effective communication and support for low-income and elderly clients.
- Engage in research and writing projects, both small and large scale, to support legal proceedings and case development.
- Attend unit meetings and all staff meetings to stay informed on organizational developments and case progress.
- Observe court proceedings to gain practical insights into legal processes and advocacy.
- Make court appearances if 3:03 certified, providing an opportunity to engage directly in legal advocacy.
- Participate in regularly scheduled Learning Lunches, Intern Meetings, and other group events to foster learning and professional development.

Education and Experience Information:
- Open to law students at all levels and dedicated undergraduate college students with an interest in legal advocacy.
- No specific prior experience required, but an interest in making a difference in the lives of low-income and elderly clients is essential.
- Students from various law schools across the country are encouraged to apply for spring, summer, fall, and winter internships.

Salary Information:
- The internship is unpaid. However, students are encouraged to check with their schools regarding available funding for public interest internships. Assistance with required paperwork for fulfilling public interest documentation is provided.

Additional Information:
- Internship applications are accepted throughout the year, with recruitment for summer interns beginning in January and continuing through May or until all spaces are filled.
- Interns can choose from various units available for internship, including the Family unit, and are matched based on location and unit preferences.
- Interns will have the opportunity to engage in a comprehensive orientation, inter-office intern get-togethers, Learning Lunches, and various events and learning opportunities to enhance their internship experience.
