Duties

  • Handle a wide variety of commercial litigation matters, including case strategy and management

  • Conduct legal research and draft briefs, motions, memoranda, and discovery documents

  • Take and defend depositions, argue motions, and appear in court

  • Participate in pre-trial preparations and support trial strategy

  • Assist in energy litigation and regulatory matters, including appearances before the Public Utility Commission of Texas

  • Engage in client communications and support business development initiatives

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in complex commercial litigation

  • Prior experience in energy litigation or regulatory litigation before the Public Utility Commission of Texas

  • Demonstrated experience with depositions, oral arguments, and discovery

  • Proven ability to manage cases independently and meet deadlines

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

  • Strong academic performance required

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas

  • Good standing with the State Bar of Texas

Skills

  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities

  • Strong oral advocacy and analytical skills

  • Highly organized with effective time management

  • Ability to lead litigation components independently

  • Comfortable collaborating with senior attorneys and clients
