Manager, Counsel (Financial Services)

Job Responsibilities:
As a Manager, Counsel in the Financial Services Division, the role requires supporting and advising the business within the auto-finance industry. The responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic legal advice on complex issues, including agent and customer servicing tools.
- Offering legal advice and supporting the investigation, resolution, and response on customer complaints, while advising on related business operations.
- Translating laws, regulations, and legal requirements into clear and focused guardrails for the business.
- Building relationships and collaborating with business stakeholders in a variety of roles.
- Understanding business needs and providing appropriate solutions to achieve desired goals.
- Collaborating with other members of the Legal Department and business to provide advice consistently and well-reasoned.

Education and Experience Information:
Basic Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing of at least one state bar.
- At least 3 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, in-house legal department, or government agency.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, in-house legal department, or government agency.
- Experience advising companies on regulatory compliance matters, including with UDAAP, FCRA, GLBA, ECOA, and TILA.
- Experience advising financial-services companies.

Salary Information:
The salary for the role of Manager, Counsel in Plano, TX ranges from $144,000 to $164,400 annually. This salary information is applicable to candidates hired to perform work in this location and reflects the amount the company is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on the agreed-upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Additional Information:
- This role is hybrid, requiring associates to spend 3 days per week in-person at one of the offices listed in the job posting, with Fridays as enterprise-wide virtual workdays.
- The role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives. Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
