Job Title: Banking & Capital Markets Tax Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Banking & Capital Markets Tax Manager is a critical role within the Financial Services Tax practice, part of Corporate Tax services, with the primary responsibility of assisting clients in meeting their tax obligations while managing the impact of tax on their business. The manager will act as a strategic consultant for business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners. Key responsibilities include:
- Advising clients on local and international tax affairs.
- Helping organizations understand pricing implications of goods and services between related parties.
- Providing advice on tax implications of deals.
- Navigating the complex national and international tax environment related to capital requirements, operational tax risks, and investment tax implications.
- Assisting clients with tax structuring to address challenges in the changing tax world.
- Working as part of a team to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.
- Developing new skills and resolving issues to enhance team effectiveness.
- Coaching team members and encouraging personal development.
- Analyzing complex ideas and building recommendations.
- Using multiple information sources for solution development.
- Addressing sub-standard work and using data to support decision-making.
- Developing a point of view on global trends and their client impact.
- Managing diverse viewpoints to build consensus and positive outcomes.
- Simplifying complex messages and summarizing key points.
- Upholding the company's code of ethics and business conduct.
Additional responsibilities involve being a technology-enabled tax advisor, providing value through digitization, automation, and increased efficiencies. The manager will leverage technical knowledge, specialization, and industry insights to meet client needs.
Education and Experience Information:
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
- Required Fields of Study: Accounting
- Minimum Years of Experience: 4 years
Certification(s) Required:
- CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive abilities in dealing with tax issues for multinational US companies or publicly traded entities.
- Experience in tax consulting, tax reporting, and compliance.
- Skills in automation and digitization in a professional services environment.
- Experience with large data sets, data visualization tools, and negotiation processes.
- Ability to manage engagements, prepare documents, and balance project economics.
- Experience with tax accounting, financial reporting, and ASC 740 techniques.
- Technical skills with tax tools like Corptax or OneSource.
- Research methods including Westlaw, RIA, and CCH.
- Team leadership, monitoring workloads, and providing feedback.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Banking & Capital Markets Tax Manager is between $98,300 and $266,000. Individuals may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The actual compensation within this range will depend on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
