Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-7 years of experience in professional liability defense. This role is based in Pittsburgh, PA, and focuses on a variety of professional liability defense areas, including architects and engineers, employment, accountant malpractice, broker/agent errors and omissions, and civil rights. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, writing, research, and communication skills, and will thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment. Location:
Pittsburgh, PA

Duties:

  • Represent clients in professional liability defense matters, including but not limited to architects and engineers, employment law, accountant malpractice, broker/agent errors and omissions, and civil rights cases.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and approaches.
  • Communicate with clients, providing updates and strategic legal counsel.
  • Participate in trial preparation and courtroom proceedings, with the goal of developing independent case management skills.
  • Continuously engage in learning and skill-building through feedback and mentorship from senior associates and shareholders.
  • Contribute to the growth and success of the firm by working on high-quality cases and providing exceptional client service.

Requirements:

  • 2-7 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on professional liability defense preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and research abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Desire to grow professionally and manage cases from inception to trial.
  • A steady and consistent work history preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in Pennsylvania (or eligibility to practice in Pennsylvania).

Skills:

  • Experience in professional liability defense or similar practice areas (., employment law, accountant malpractice, civil rights).
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
