Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm in Lutherville, MD, is seeking an experienced Senior Immigration Attorney to advocate for clients facing immigration challenges. This role involves representation in removal proceedings, legal research, case strategy development, and mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate possesses strong litigation skills and a deep understanding of immigration law, with a passion for defending immigrant rights.

Duties:

• Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.

• Conduct client interviews and gather case information.

• Prepare legal briefs, motions, and other court documents.

• Perform legal research on immigration laws, regulations, and precedents.

• Provide legal counsel to clients regarding immigration relief and potential case outcomes.

• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop effective case strategies.

• Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and policies.

• Participate in client meetings and legal consultations.

• Manage multiple cases while adhering to deadlines.

• Mentor junior staff in navigating the immigration legal system.

Requirements:

• Admission to the bar in Maryland (preferred), or West Virginia/Pennsylvania (beneficial).

• Minimum of 2 years of immigration law experience, with a focus on removal proceedings.

• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.

• Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.

• Demonstrated commitment to immigrant rights and legal advocacy.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar admission in Maryland, or willingness to obtain admission.

Skills:

• Strong litigation and advocacy skills.

• Ability to manage complex immigration cases.

• Proficiency in legal research and writing.

• Client-focused approach with strong problem-solving abilities.

• Multilingual abilities (Spanish or Portuguese) are a plus.
