The Tax Senior Manager will be responsible for providing tax and consulting services to business clients with pass-through entities and their owners. This role will involve managing client engagements, supervising and reviewing work of team members, and working closely with clients, internal managers, and partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax concepts and be actively pursuing increased tax knowledge through client assignments and current tax developments.

H2: Job Summary

The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for providing tax and consulting services to business clients with pass-through entities and to their business owners. This includes tax planning, preparation, and research for S-corporations, LLCs, partnerships, and individual returns, as well as estates, trusts, and charitable entities. The Senior Tax Manager will also manage client engagements, supervise team members, and contribute to client satisfaction by providing timely services and work product.

H2: Job Duties

- Plan, prepare, and research tax compliance for pass-through entities and their owners, including S-corps, LLCs, partnerships, estates, trusts, and charitable entities.
- Manage client engagements and supervise team members, working closely with clients, internal managers, and partners.
- Contribute to client satisfaction by providing timely services and work product.
- Demonstrate understanding of tax concepts and actively pursue increased tax knowledge through client assignments and current tax developments.

H2: Supervisory Responsibilities

- Build and train a team of professionals to serve high net worth clients with timely responses to their needs.
- Supervise associates and senior associates on all projects.
- Review work prepared by team members and provide feedback.
- Train team members on current software tools.
- Act as a Career Advisor to team members.
- Schedule and manage workload of team members.
- Provide verbal and written performance feedback to team members.

H2: Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

H3: Education

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics, preferred.
- Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation, preferred.

H3: Experience

- Eight or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience, required.
- Experience working with individual, estate, trust, partnership, S-corporation, and private foundation tax/consulting clients.
- Prior supervisory experience, required.

H3: License/Certifications

- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA), required.
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role, preferred.

H3: Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills, as well as decision-making skills.
- Ability to develop and manage a team of tax professionals.
- Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
- Executive presence and ability to act as primary client contact for preparation and presentation of issues and resolutions.

H2: Salary Information

Individual salaries offered to candidates are determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. The following ranges are provided as a guideline:

- California: $146,000 - $200,000
- Colorado: $120,000 - $185,000
- Illinois: $140,000 - $190,000
- Maryland: $152,000 - $188,000
- Minnesota: $130,000 - $190,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $175,000 - $205,000
- Washington: $150,000 - $200,000
- Washington DC: $156,000 - $200,000
