Job Overview:
A highly respected boutique law firm specializing in representing employers in labor and employment law is seeking one or two experienced attorneys to join its growing team. This position is ideal for professionals who are motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing litigation files independently. The firm’s attorneys regularly engage with clients, labor unions, administrative agencies, and courts. Location:

  • Fairlawn, OH

Duties:

  • Represent employers in mediation, arbitration, grievance proceedings, and collective bargaining

  • Handle litigation before state/federal courts and administrative agencies (., EEOC, NLRB, SERB)

  • Advise clients on HR strategy and compliance with federal, state, and local labor/employment laws

  • Draft and negotiate various employment-related agreements, including:

    • Collective bargaining agreements

    • Employment contracts

    • Non-compete and separation agreements

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and client advisories

  • Deliver in-person and virtual training sessions on labor/employment law

  • Draft and update employee handbooks and workplace policies

  • Ensure client compliance with the National Labor Relations Act and Ohio’s public sector bargaining laws

Requirements:

  • 4–10 years of relevant legal experience (employment litigation or general litigation)

  • Demonstrated ability to manage case files independently

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication

  • Experience interfacing with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and regulatory bodies

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio

Skills:

  • Legal research and writing proficiency

  • Effective time management and prioritization

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Westlaw, and Bloomberg
