Job Title: Tax Manager, Alternative Investments

Job Responsibilities:
The Tax Manager, Alternative Investments is responsible for delivering tax compliance and consulting services to clients involved in Venture Capital, Private Equity, Hedge Fund, and Real Estate sectors. The role involves ensuring clients comply with all relevant authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens. The manager must ensure adherence to company policies, standards, and the Tax Quality Manual. Key duties include preparing tax filings based on the client's unique circumstances and documentation, collecting necessary data for compliance, and using company compliance software to optimize the tax preparation process. The manager collaborates with Principals, Tax Seniors, and Associates to complete projects, delivers high-quality federal, state, and international tax compliance services, leads complex engagements with a team of tax professionals, manages engagements including billing, collections, and budgeting, builds and maintains client relationships, and documents client work and conclusions in the client tax file. Additionally, the manager assists in identifying, developing, recommending, and implementing efficient tax strategies and supervises teams of Tax Seniors and Associates.

Education and Experience:
The position requires a Bachelor's Degree, with a preference for majors in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics. A Master's Degree in Accounting or Taxation is preferred. The candidate must have five or more years of relevant tax experience and/or experience in public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services. Experience in the Financial Services industry, specifically supporting Alternative Investment funds such as Venture Capital, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Hedge Funds, is preferred. Proficiency in the taxation of partnerships and prior supervisory experience are also required.

License/Certifications:
The candidate must hold a CPA certification, be an Attorney admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction, or be an Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent. Possession of other applicable professional degrees or certifications is beneficial.

Software:
The role prefers experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, tax research databases, and proficiency in tax compliance process software.

The candidate should possess superior verbal and written communication skills, the ability to delegate work effectively, strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills, decision-making skills, and the capacity to work well in a team environment.
