Job Title: Entertainment (Music) Associate (Mid-to-Senior-Level)
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on various music industry transactions, including recording agreements, album clearance work, music publishing and administration agreements, music catalog acquisitions and sales, management agreements, joint venture agreements, sponsorship and endorsements, digital licensing, and matters related to copyright and Artificial Intelligence.
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel on music M&A transactions, which involves conducting thorough due diligence and preparing, reviewing, and negotiating acquisition, sale, and financing agreements.
Education and Experience Information:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
- A minimum of 3-6 years of experience within the music business, either in-house or at a reputable law firm.
- Exposure and proficiency in music publishing, recorded music, management, joint venture, sponsorship and endorsement, live touring, and digital music licensing deals.
- Knowledge of copyright law, including statutory termination rights, rights of name/image/likeness/voice, and trademark law within the music industry.
- Experience in music catalog sales and acquisitions is advantageous but not required if the candidate has a broad range of experience in other areas of the music business.
Salary Information:
- Pay range: $235,000 - $390,000. This represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including location and experience.
