Job Title: Underwriting Counsel
Job Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate title searches and insurance risk factors, ensuring that underwriting requirements are communicated effectively to counsel for buyers, sellers, and lenders involved in real estate transactions.
- Evaluate risks and exposures to determine the acceptability of business.
- Determine premiums, terms, and conditions based on established rules, rates, and guidelines.
- Analyze data such as the financial conditions of the organization, participation percentage, type of industry, characteristics of employee groups, or past claim experience.
- Perform a range of assignments and potentially lead projects within the discipline.
- Apply working knowledge of business and best practices through an understanding of key business drivers, recognizing how the area integrates within the organization.
- Work within broad guidelines and policies to accomplish objectives and goals.
- Solve moderately complex to complex problems and analyze possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
- Explain complex and/or sensitive information in a straightforward manner.
- Act as a resource for colleagues and provide guidance to less experienced team members.
- Serve as an individual contributor with limited oversight.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Education:

Experience:
- Typically requires 2-4 years of related work experience.
