Duties:
Manage a caseload of immigration cases, including asylum, removal proceedings, defensive applications for relief, family-based filings, naturalization, consular processing, VAWA applications, and I-212/I-601A waivers
Communicate regularly with clients to update them on case status and provide legal guidance
Manage case load and meet deadlines effectively
Keep up-to-date on legal issues that may impact clients
Formulate creative legal strategies within the framework of regulations, laws, and policies
Draft motions, review and file cases, and prepare briefs and memorandums of law as needed
Conduct legal research to support case strategy
Develop a legal strategy for each client’s case from start to finish
Requirements:
Must speak Spanish (Required)
Experience in asylum, removal proceedings, family-based filings, naturalization, consular processing, VAWA applications, and waivers (Required)
Strong interest in statutory interpretation and a proactive demeanor in immigration court (Required)
Empathetic and passionate about providing legal solutions for clients (Required)
Desire for professional growth and development (Required)
Willingness to travel outside of the state as needed (Required)
Strong communication, organizational, and case management skills (Required)
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (Required)
Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction (Required)
Skills:
Immigration law expertise (asylum, removal proceedings, VAWA, etc.)
Legal research and document preparation (motions, briefs, memorandums)
Client communication and case management
Strong understanding of statutory interpretation
Proactive and creative legal thinking
