Job Overview:
A top-tier law firm is seeking a mid-level Mergers & Acquisitions Associate Attorney (4th–6th year) to join its Corporate & Securities group in New York. The position focuses on advising clients in a wide range of M&A and private equity transactions, including leveraged buyouts, growth capital investments, and other complex business combinations. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven attorney to advance within a sophisticated and fast-paced practice, working with experienced dealmakers across various industries.

Location:

  • New York, NY

Duties:

  • Advise clients on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, and corporate governance matters

  • Draft, review, and negotiate purchase agreements, investment agreements, and related corporate documentation

  • Participate in all stages of transactional matters, including due diligence, deal structuring, execution, and post-closing integration

  • Collaborate closely with clients, opposing counsel, and internal practice groups (., tax, finance, employment)

  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations

  • Support business development and client relationship initiatives

Requirements:

  • 4 to 6 years of experience practicing in M&A, preferably with exposure to private equity transactions

  • Background in handling leveraged buyouts, growth equity deals, or similar high-value corporate transactions is strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex transactional workflows independently or with minimal supervision

  • Experience working at an Am Law 100 firm is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Strong academic credentials required

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar

  • In good standing with licensing authority

Skills:

  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and organizational skills

  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of deal dynamics

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple high-stakes transactions simultaneously

  • Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced legal environment
