The Legal Affairs Specialist in New York will advise on UNICEF's arrangements with financial service providers, common premises and services, private sector fundraising, digital payments, and financial transactions. They will also handle legal matters such as commercial contracts, disputes, and institutional issues. Reporting to the Senior Legal Affairs Specialist, the Legal Affairs Specialist will collaborate with teams globally in support of UNICEF's mission.

How can you make a difference?

- Act as the lead lawyer on various legal agreements and matters, including those related to financial service providers, cash-based transfer programs, electronic payments, and more.
- Collaborate with teams across the organization, at all levels, in development and humanitarian contexts.
- Develop and provide training and capacity building to internal teams.
- Support projects managed by the Legal Team throughout their entire lifecycle.
- Take on other tasks and duties as required.

To qualify as an advocate for every child, you will have:

- A minimum of a post-graduate university law degree (., ., .) in a relevant field.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in law, preferably in international or commercial law.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English, with proficiency in another UN language desirable.

Desirable qualifications include experience working in developing countries or in emergency contexts.
