Job Title: Manager, Federal Tax (Corporate)
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage tax provision preparation projects for quarterly and annual reporting for both SEC registrants and private entities.
- Oversee . tax compliance projects for multinational companies.
- Assist with tax-planning for corporate clients.
- Advise clients on tax accounting aspects of complex transactions, including IPO readiness, acquisitions, corporate restructurings, restatements, and post-bankruptcy fresh start accounting.
- Lead special projects in technical areas such as tax basis balance sheets, valuation allowance, accounting for uncertain tax positions, indefinitely reinvested earnings assertion, outside basis differences, and share-based payments.
- Conduct day-to-day management of accounts to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate work products.
- Supervise, mentor, and motivate Associates and Senior Associates, actively participating in their advancement through on-the-job training, providing performance feedback, and fostering a team-based atmosphere.
- Manage workload and deadlines for Associates and Senior Associates with a focus on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Manage client calls to understand critical areas and apply tax technical knowledge to specific client situations.
- Create concise and complete deliverables that address critical client elements.
- Communicate work plan, project objectives, and timelines to multidisciplinary project teams.
- Encourage open expression of ideas, and actively seek opportunities for diverse experiences and perspectives.
- Build client relationships and demonstrate a working knowledge of client businesses, with opportunities for additional responsibility.
- Assist with business development, including creating business development resources and proposal materials.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 4+ years of experience with accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) and corporate tax compliance.
- Strong knowledge in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, consolidated federal tax returns, and combined state tax returns.
- CPA or Licensed Attorney.
- Proven experience in leading and managing work streams and mentoring junior staff.
- Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts, establish credibility, and influence clients.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
- Experience with OneSource Income Tax and OneSource Tax Provision preferred.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively manage deadlines.
- High motivation to learn and grow.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Salary Information:
- The salary range is $110,000 - $140,000 annually, dependent on variables such as education, experience, skills, and geography.
- A discretionary bonus program is available, based on individual and company performance.
