Job Title: Tax Senior, Sustainability Credits – National Federal Tax Services

Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Consultant within the Sustainability: Gi3 practice at Company, your primary role will be to advise clients on sustainability and social Federal Credits and Incentives (C&I) programs, facilitating the analysis and documentation of these opportunities. Due to the evolving nature of legislation in these areas, many businesses lack the necessary resources or personnel to keep up. Your role will be vital in assisting clients to achieve their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals by understanding relevant government incentives. You will collaborate with an experienced and passionate team focused on sustainability and ESG, working across various departments within the company, including Tax, Advisory, Consulting, and Audit and Assurance.

Key responsibilities include:
- Facilitating Federal C&I engagements related to sustainability and ESG, including programs under the Internal Revenue Code (IRC), such as:
- IRC section 45Q Carbon Capture Tax Credit
- IRC section 48 Investment Tax Credit
- IRC section 45 Production Tax Credit
- IRC section 30C Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit
- IRC section 1400Z Qualified Opportunity Zones
- IRC section 45D New Markets Tax Credit
- Delivering value to clients by identifying opportunities and advising on potential benefits and eligibility requirements.
- Maintaining and developing strong internal and client relationships.
- Demonstrating sound judgment and a quality-first approach in evaluating eligibility for various fact patterns.
- Developing processes with colleagues in other technical specialties and creating materials to perform benefit calculations.
- Collaborating with member firms, such as Advisory and Consulting, to execute work streams like valuation studies, tax equity modeling, and life cycle assessment (LCA) studies.
- Identifying potential issues, proposing solutions to leadership, and implementing process improvement strategies.
- Ensuring accurate and timely delivery of engagement deliverables, which may include presentation decks, executive summaries, credit calculations, completed tax forms, supporting files, memoranda, and IRS audit responses.
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory tax developments and working with the team to present potential opportunities to assist clients.
- Providing support with various internal initiatives and special tax-related projects.

Education and Experience Information:
Required qualifications for this role include:
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week.
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, engineering, technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated analytical and research skills, along with effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and proactively develop internal and external working relationships.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, depending on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- One of the following accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible, a Licensed attorney or Enrolled Agent.
- Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA), Professional Engineer, or GRI.

Preferred qualifications include:
- An advanced degree such as a Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple, competing priorities.
- Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment.
- A passion for leveraging technology and exploring new technology solutions.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Previous experience with a Big 4 or large CPA or law firm.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Salary Information:
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Company, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $77,070 to $175,500.

Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
