Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in North Barrington, IL, is seeking an experienced and motivated Personal Injury Attorney to join their litigation team. The firm offers a diverse range of personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accidents, slips and falls, and medical malpractice. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in personal injury law and litigation, with the ability to manage cases from initial consultation through to resolution, including trials and settlements.
Duties:
- Manage all phases of personal injury cases, from client intake through to case resolution or trial.
- Conduct detailed investigations and gather evidence to support client claims.
- Prepare and file legal documents such as complaints, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Perform legal research to support pleadings and motion practice.
- Formulate case strategies based on the client's best interests and legal considerations.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.
- Represent clients in court and at mediation or arbitration hearings.
- Communicate consistently with clients, providing updates and addressing their questions.
- Collaborate with legal support staff, such as paralegals and legal assistants, to ensure efficient case management.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal injury law and litigation.
- Strong knowledge of personal injury law, including motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall incidents, and medical malpractice.
- Proven experience in drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and handling motion practice.
- Comfortable managing a large caseload and working under tight deadlines.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with clients, insurance companies, and opposing parties.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
