A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Senior Commercial Litigation Attorney. The attorney will be responsible for handling various aspects of litigation, including case investigation, pre-trial discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trials. While experience in commercial litigation is preferred, candidates with proficiency in litigation in other substantive legal areas, such as family law or criminal law, are also encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate should be organized, capable of managing deadlines, and possess excellent academic credentials, along with strong writing, analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Duties:
- Handle all facets of litigation, including case investigation, pre-trial discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trials
- Represent clients in commercial litigation matters, advocating for their interests
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel
- Manage deadlines and prioritize tasks efficiently
Requirements:
- 21 years of law firm or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in litigation, preferably in commercial litigation
- Excellent academic credentials
- Strong writing, analytical, leadership, and communication skills
- Organized and capable of managing deadlines effectively
