**Job Title: Tax Senior - Tax Services Indirect Tax**

**Job Responsibilities:**
The role of a Tax Senior in the Indirect Tax department involves providing state and local indirect tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to a diverse client base across various industry sectors. Key responsibilities include:

- Researching state and local indirect tax legislation and assisting with drafting client responses and memos.
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and streamline workflow.
- Assisting with various state and local indirect tax consulting projects, such as sales & use and excise tax overpayment reviews, tax implications of sales and purchase transactions, audit defense services, nexus planning, and voluntary disclosures.
- Managing engagement workflow and supervising tax consultants and interns on assigned engagements.
- Assisting with the preparation of client billings and account reconciliations.
- Drafting new proposals for new and existing clients.
- Coordinating with the in-house tax preparation team within the company and with clients’ tax departments.
- Performing detailed technical reviews of state and local indirect tax returns on select engagements.

**Education and Experience Information:**
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in state and local indirect tax, specifically in sales & use and excise tax.
- One of the following active accreditations is required, or the candidate must be in the process of obtaining, or willing and able to obtain one:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- CMI (Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation Vertex)
- Experience in preparation and review of state and local indirect tax returns.
- Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work and clients served.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
- An advanced degree such as a Masters of Tax or JD and/or LLM.
- Previous experience in a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Demonstrated experience with state and local indirect tax planning, tax research, and tax analysis.
- Excellent research, writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Supervisory experience is advantageous.

**Salary Information:**
The wage range for this role considers a wide range of factors, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is $66,570 to $151,580. However, it's not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, as compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, which depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
