Job Title: Director of Recruitment and Retention
Job Responsibilities:
The Director of Recruitment and Retention at the **Members Only** is primarily tasked with leading efforts to identify, recruit, hire, and retain a diverse and qualified workforce. The individual in this role will collaborate with hiring managers to develop and execute recruiting plans that align with established policies and workforce needs. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing cost-effective recruitment strategies using various methods such as advertising, job sites, career fairs, social media, and other online platforms to attract qualified candidates.
- Representing the CCRB at job fairs, community, and industry events to promote job opportunities and attract potential candidates.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with schools, partner associations, community groups, and other potential sources of candidates to build a pipeline of qualified applicants.
- Sourcing and screening candidates for job vacancies, referring qualified candidates to hiring managers, consulting during the selection process, and conducting reference checks.
- Overseeing the recruitment process for all CCRB vacancies, ensuring timely completion of paperwork, and obtaining necessary approvals for hiring actions.
- Collaborating with the leadership team to assess staffing needs and implement new investigator classes, ensuring recruitment and hiring are conducted efficiently.
- Supervising hiring activities including retrieving resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, checking references, and extending job offers.
- Coordinating with the Budget and Office of Personnel staff to ensure funding and posting approvals are obtained to facilitate the hiring process.
- Ensuring staff interaction with candidates is conducted with professionalism, timeliness, and courtesy.
- Analyzing data on resignation, termination, and general attrition to advise senior leadership on retention strategies.
- Assisting in staff exit interviews and developing systems to utilize information from these interviews to improve hiring and retention practices.
- Contributing to the development of external communications and campaigns necessary to advance the recruitment program.
- Performing other duties related to recruitment and retention as directed.
Education and Experience Information:
Minimum Qualifications for the position include:
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and five years of recent full-time responsible professional, supervisory, or administrative experience; or
2. A license to practice law in the State of New York and three years of recent full-time responsible professional, supervisory, or administrative experience; or
3. Education and/or experience equivalent to the above, with a minimum of three years of professional, supervisory, or administrative experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Six years of professional experience, with at least three years in staffing, recruiting, and/or talent acquisition.
- Proven ability to use computer software and applications, such as Microsoft Office, to share, retrieve, research, and present business information.
- A Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- Flexibility, diplomacy, attention to detail, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong process improvement, analytical, project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with spreadsheet, database, presentation, statistical, project management, and word processing applications.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
- Competence in Executive Core Competencies such as interpersonal skills, oral and written communication, integrity, continual learning, public service motivation, strategic thinking, team building, accountability, customer service, problem-solving, and coalition building.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Director of Recruitment and Retention position is between $90, and $140, annually.
Additional Information:
Prospective employees may be eligible for federal loan forgiveness programs and state repayment assistance programs. New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment, with some exceptions for City Employees with continuous service.
