Responsibilities:
- Act as legal advisor to city officials and departments
- Attend meetings to assist with policy and legal implications
- Draft and revise ordinances and resolutions
- Manage legal requirements for municipal bond issues and other financial matters
- Negotiate and draft legal documents for real estate and other municipal transactions
- Represent the City in litigation and administrative hearings
- Manage outside counsel and maintain liability policies and claims
- Administer office procedures and budget, and supervise department staff
- Minimum qualifications: Juris Doctor Degree, 7 years experience in municipal law, license to practice in Wisconsin, admission to federal courts, compliance with continuing legal education requirements, and successful background investigation

As the City Attorney, you will also have the responsibility of administering office procedures and budget, as well as supervising department staff.

To be considered for this position, you must have a Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school, 7 years of experience in municipal law, and a license to practice in Wisconsin. You must also be admitted to practice in federal courts and comply with continuing legal education requirements. A successful background investigation is also required. A combination of equivalent experience and education may be considered.
