Job Overview:

A prominent law firm based in Denver, CO, is seeking a full-time Litigation Associate with a strong foundation in civil litigation and a demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will bring focused litigation experience, particularly involving governmental entities, and thrive in a collaborative yet independent work environment. Duties:

  • Handle a full caseload of civil litigation matters with minimal oversight

  • Draft and revise pleadings, motions (including dispositive motions), and legal memoranda

  • Conduct and respond to written discovery in line with state and federal rules

  • Lead and manage depositions (minimum of 25 required)

  • Represent clients during court proceedings, including hearings and, preferably, trials

  • Consult with and advise clients, particularly governmental or quasi-governmental entities

  • Address legal matters related to civil rights, tort claims, employment disputes, land use, and governmental immunity

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external experts as needed to support litigation strategies

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of relevant civil litigation experience

  • Familiarity with both Colorado and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure

  • Demonstrated experience in leading depositions and pre-trial litigation

  • Proficiency in legal research, analysis, and persuasive writing

  • Experience with public sector or governmental clients is strongly preferred

  • Clerkship experience is advantageous

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Colorado

  • Good standing with the Colorado Bar

Skills:

  • Exceptional written and oral communication abilities

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to think strategically and respond quickly to shifting case developments

  • Skilled in managing multiple assignments in a high-stakes environment

  • Client-service orientation with an ability to build trust across diverse stakeholders
