Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Boston is currently seeking an Associate Attorney with a focus on civil litigation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced litigators and handle a variety of complex legal matters. The ideal candidate will have 0-3 years of litigation experience and be eager to develop their skills in a collaborative and supportive environment. This role will involve direct involvement in case preparation, court proceedings, and settlement negotiations.

Duties:

  • Conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategy and preparation.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, discovery motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Attend and conduct depositions, actively participating in case development.
  • Negotiate settlements while maintaining effective communication with all parties involved.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, ensuring all necessary evidence and case materials are organized.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and provide trial support.
  • Stay informed on changes to relevant laws and regulations, particularly in the area of tort law.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of case progress and client interactions.

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in Massachusetts.
  • 0-3 years of litigation experience.
  • Prior courtroom exposure is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and research skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team efforts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of adapting to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • An active Bar license in Massachusetts is required.
